Home Phone Calling Features

  •  Repeat Dialing *66: Allows a Customer to have their last outbound call automatically redialed when their first attempt reaches a busy number by pressing (*66). The system will monitor the busy line the customer has called for 30 minutes.

  • Call Return *69: Automatic Recall - Call Return allows a Customer to hear the number of the last incoming call and then automatically connect to that number by dialing (*69).

  • Home Phone Online Tools: Bright House Networks Home Phone Voice Mail Customers can now manage their voice mail through the internet from anywhere. The new Home Phone Online Tools allows customers to check their voice mails, reset their pin, choose language settings, and much more directly through the internet.

  • Second Line: Get a second phone line with your Bright House Networks Home Phone service for one low monthly cost. Two lines with seperate Voice Mail Boxes, perfect for roommates and families with teenages tying up the phone line.

  • Three-Way Calling: Three-Way Calling allows you to add a third party to an existing conversation without operator assistance. This feature is available to Home Phone customers at no extra cost!

  • E911: E911 service is active for all customers when Home Phone is installed. It enables an emergency dispatcher to automatically identify your name, phone number and address when you dial 911.
     
  • Voice Mail: Never miss a call again. Voice Mail records messages from people who call when you are not available. You can access Voice Mail by calling from any phone in your home and away from home by calling (317) 810-9050 or (765) 206-8000, plus online with visual Voice Mail in Home Phone Online Tools and with easy gadget.  Spanish Voice Mail is also available.   • Caller ID: See who's calling before you answer the phone. When you receive a call, the name and telephone number of the person calling is shown on your phone's Caller ID display screen.


  • Call Waiting: If you are on the phone when another caller is trying to reach you, you'll hear a beep or special tone to notify you that you are receiving another call.

  • Call Waiting ID: Combines Caller ID and Call Waiting features. A special tone alerts you to a waiting call and you also receive a visual display of the name and number of the person calling on your Caller ID display.

  • Call Forwarding: Forward or re-direct your phone calls to an alternate phone number and never miss a call. Please note: If calls are forwarded to International numbers, long distance charges will apply. If calls are forwarded to a cell phone, any minutes or charges will be applied against the cell phone's wireless plan. 

  • Speed Dial: Allows you to program frequently dialed numbers so you can dial using just one digit.

  • Anonymous Call Rejection: By activating this feature, you can block unidentified calls for as long as you choose. Incoming calls from unidentified callers, including those identified as Anonymous or Unavailable are automatically rejected. Unidentified callers will hear an announcement telling them to hang up, make their Caller ID information available and then redial the number.

  • Caller ID On TV: Subscribers of both Home Phone and Video are now able to see who is calling right on their TV! Caller ID on TV saves up to the last 10 callers.

  • Star (*) Codes: Activate additional features, such as (*67) for Caller ID and (*98) for Voice Mail. Learn More about this feature. 

  • Battery Backup: If your Home Phone modem is equipped with a backup-battery, your phone service will be available during a local home power outage for as long as the battery power stays charged. Customers are responsible for phone modem battery replacement. If your modem has a battery light on its front: Check to see if it is persistently yellow and flashing after being connected to electrical power for more than 12 or more hours. If so, then the battery is low and should be replaced. If your modem does not have a battery light on its front, please visit www.brighthouse.com to look up your modem and how to tell when the battery needs to be replaced.

    If your backup-battery stops working within the first twelve months of receiving your home phone service from Bright House Networks, please call us at 317-972-9700 (Marion, IN call 765-662-0071) and we will replace your battery at no charge.

  • Enhanced Directory Assistance - With Enhanced Directory Assistance you can get movie listings, reverse number lookup, category (Yellow Page) search, horoscopes, lottery results, time, weather, sports scores, driving directions and more. Simply dial 411. Enhanced Directory Assistance is only $1.20 per call.

  • Unlimited Directory Assistance - Don't worry about how much you and your family call 411! For one low monthly rate of $4.95, you can dial 411 as much as you like. There will be no per-use charge for both Enhanced Directory Assistance and Standard Local and National Directory listings. Unlimited Directory Assistance is available to Unlimited Nationwide calling plan customers only.
